On Jan. 19, the US government enacted the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, which effectively bans TikTok by prohibiting its distribution and updates within the country.

The ban has sparked disappointment among many, including popular Filipino American social media star Bretman Rock, who took to Instagram to express his frustration.
Buskowitz, a provider of rooftop solar and renewable energy solutions, said Monday it secured the investment from APAC Sustainable Infrastructure Fund (A-SIF), being led by real assets manager Patrizia Se and Japanese investment firm Mitsui & Co., Ltd.
By the closing bell, the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) tumbled by 2.1 percent, or 155.65 points, to 7, 272.65.

Bretman is among the many influencers who rose to fame on TikTok, where he showcased his fun personality and entertaining moments, including heartfelt interactions with his niece, Cleo.
Temporarily, TikTok is back online, though the app still could not be downloaded from the Apple and Google app stores in the United States.

US TikTok greeted users with a notification, “Thanks for your patience and support. As a result of President Trump’s efforts, TikTok is back in the U.S.!”
